Exploration gear for underwater
Drysuit & WetsuitsLocally designed by BARE, drysuits keep the water out and us warm and cosy. Wetsuits use a thin layer of water to keep you insulated. We sometimes use wetsuits in the summer, and drysuits all other times, especially if it snows!
Regs & BCDsRegulators allow us to breathe underwater and under pressure, whilst buoyancy compensator devices (BCDs) allow us to stay neutral in the water, and buoyant at the surface. Both are essential for divers
Dive ComputersBritish Columbia's Shearwater Research produce our dive computers. They keep us within our limits for decompression, and tell us our depth among a host of other information. Plus they just look awesome!
AccessoriesNeoprene hoods and gloves help insulate us from the cold water, whilst underwater flashlights help illuminate our path and allow us to spot creatures!
UndergarmentsWater conducts heat away from your body very quickly, so we wear thick and cozy undergarments under our drysuits to keep us warm in local waters
Tanks & BackupAir tanks carry high pressure air, or enriched air with a higher percentage of oxygen. Plus, we almost always carry a smaller backup system called a Pony Bottle
Filmmaking tools
CameraThe Panasonic GH5 & GH5S make up our core group, offering a mix of 4K and full frame loveliness. Plus an iPhone 8 for fun!
HousingsYou can't take a camera underwater without a protective housing, Canada's Aquatica Digital make the best, and it is essential!
LightsLight doesn't travel as far in water as it does on land. We need powerful, but compact lights to help show colour and set the scene
DroneAn amazing evolution in aerial video is now available to everyone, so long as you follow the rules and fly safely!
AccessoriesTripods, sliders, gimbals, microphones, lights, batteries, memory cards... all stored in amazing Canadian-made Nanuk hard cases!
In The OfficeApple Macs, Adobe Creative Cloud, and much coffee fuel our office time. Aided by our little rats (this one is Ray)!
